Imagine for a second you’re a squirrel. There you are, running around with a bunch of nuts in your mouth, when you wander onto someone’s porch. Next thing you know, you’re flying majestically across the backyard! You’re not sure how it happened, but luckily, some good ole’ boys inside got the whole thing on video.

You’re never going to live this one down, Mr. Squirrel; better just scamper back to your tree, crack open a PBR and get ready for a long, cold winter.

    Animal cruelty is a felony in this state. If I ever caught some idiot doing this, he would be in handcuffs so quick, he would be on his way to jail before the squirrel landed. I don't think this is funny, and a magazine with your reputation should be above encouraging people to hurt animals.

    Lighten up. Michigan cop. No one cares what you think is funny. Those things cause damage to property. Thank God we don't have cops that are that stupid here.

      The yardstick used to measure what animal cruelty is, would be: Would I want that same thing done to me? If not, then it is cruel and should not be done to an animal. If you have a problem with any varmint, then capture it and release it in an area that won't bother others, or end it's life as rapidly as possible, always within the guidlines of state law…… With those four sentences, I know why you are an EX cop. On a side note, are there any new sandwiches being introduced at the Burger King where you work?

        I must apologize for saying the Michigan cop was stupid. Personal attacks are never justified.
        What I should have said is my opinion of that simple act being a felony is ludicrous. A felony is a crime that the perpetrator can go to prison for. Felonies include murder, rape, robbery, child molestation etc. Classing a person flipping a squirrel into that category only tends to make the term felony watered down.
        I agree that needlessly inflicting pain and suffering on anything is wrong I also do not think the test of would I want to have someone do that to me is also incorrect. I would not want to be butchered for food, kept as a pet, or hunted. All of these things are an ethical and reasonable use of animals in my opinion.
