by PH Online Editors   |  January 16th, 2014 2

Nosler revealed its newest caliber offering, the 26 Nosler, at the 2014 SHOT Show in Las Vegas. The 26 Nosler is a .264 caliber (6.5 mm) cartridge capable of shooting a 129-grain AccuBond long-range bullet at 3,400 fps, or a 140-grain AccuBond at 3,300 fps. The case of the 26 Nosler is non-belted, which further enhances accuracy. The 26 Nosler is one of the fastest, flattest shooting .264 caliber cartridges on the market today. The 26 Nosler will be available soon.

I don’t see the big deal with the 26 Nosler . I built a 6.5 based on the 7mm Dakota necked down a long time ago. Exactly the same cartridge. I get the same measured velocities as Nosler, and with good case life. My rifle is a M70
Winchester Classic CRF with a PacNor stainless steel barrel. I am not going to run out and buy a 26 Nosler. No need.
