PETA Launches Salacious Porn Site; How Do We Fight Back?

by Ben O'Brien   |  June 6th, 2012 17

Did you ever imagine an advocacy group would consider famous flesh trader/hedgehog look-a-like Ron Jeremy to be a fine vehicle for their message? It’s not like he’s going to going to show up in the Book Mobile with a gaggle of blondes touting literacy anytime soon.

But, heck, when you’re PETA and it’s 2012, who gives a shitzu?

If you are so inclined (and we hope that never happens), just click over to PETA.xxx to check out Jeremy’s message for all the porn/animal rights fans out there.

“[T]his is the perfect example of sex just being used to draw interest, and then once you’re there on the site, we’re going to hit you with facts that you need to know about the world of animals,” he proclaims.

Well, thanks Ron, for the lesson in horrible marketing. This site is just another in a long line of desperate measures for PETA, who now seem to be a proponent of both eating and having sex with vegetables. (Seriously, they made a video.)

PETA.xxx qualifies for its erotic domain name by showing partially nude shots of celebrities and porn stars all-the-while sprinkling in tidbits about McDonalds’ evil McNugget schemes and hunting’s blood lust. They even invite users to submit photos of themselves going nude for animal rights.

Scare and shock tactics aside, this trend simply denotes how far these people will take this fight. Why then, isn’t anyone in the hunting community fighting back with full force?

I’m not quite smart enough to answer that question, so I wanted to get reader opinion. How would you suggest we bring attention to the positive side of hunting?

Would you go as far as PETA to ultimately protect our heritage? Start the debate.

PETA has always been media whores ! It's a natural path for their perverted agenda. They kill more dogs and cats than anyone, and claim they are pro animal ? Sicko's !

  • Maskman

Why fight back? This is self-mockery at it's most pure. The ridicule and laughter will burn in their ears forever more.

PETA's pathetic and doomed attempt to drive pageviews will become yesterday's bad joke soon enough. PETA has *zero* idea how to run a sccuessful 'adult' site, and while they may get a brief spike in interest and notoriety, they'll be quickly eclipsed by the professional in the 'pr0n' industry as they continue to do what they do best: Drive pageviews like PETA *wishes* they could.

    … new spin on beastiality??

Ha! You can put lipstick on a pig but it's still a pig!

well i don.t think we should stoop to their level… i just don't see the connection between nudity and animal cruelty.

also… i cant think of any hunters that i would want to see naked… -_-

Ha! Exactly my thought — a nude pic of me certainly isn't going to positively sway people's opinions on hunting. Might cause the opposite + some heartburn. PLEASE don't go to the PETA website.

Fricken GENIUS on their end. Pure genius.

remember people….PETA-People Eating Tasty Animals…..there's always room for God's creatures….next to the mashed potatoes and gravy

Hey, I have a T-shirt that says that, and always get positive comments about it….after they read the fine print.

Even Larry the Cable guy in a speedo, eating an endangered White Rhino steak couldn't top PETA. Now that's funny!

  • Eric Grant

I believe in safe and ethical hunting practices, don't waste your breath on this.Put your attention on the task at hand. They are searching in the wrong place. Let this one die where it falls ! It's not worth even mentioning !

Being a woman hunter I see the use of sexuality to sell a product or an idea all the time. (Booth Babes, Tiffany Lakowski etc) My personal thought is if the product or idea was good enough to sell it's self they wouldn't need the jaw dropping cosmetically enhanced Barbies to do it. No different here. PETA makes money based on how many visitors to the site. How many of you have already visited it just to see what they are doing? Well they thank you because you just paid them.

The hell with PETA! They are so full of crap it isn't even funny! PETA and the Humane society are the biggest abusers of animals in the US!

  • Mark nell

The only way to fight this is to keep hunting in a positive light in the public eye. We can't stoop to thier level and if we do we won't win, you can't out-sleeze PETA.

Why don't you dedicate the cover of the magazine to the positive "well known celebs" and other familiar faces in the entertainment world. Think about it, we who buy or subscribe to the magazine know what we are getting inside the pages, so what's on the cover really doesn't matter to us. Now you get someone at the magazine rack who knows a celebs face when they see one and see's it on your magazine cover, maybe they too will change their media trained mind about our sport and passion. If it took off it might just become something celebs aspire to accomplish, their image on Petersen's Hunting. Or maybe you do an issue dedicated to them annually like the Sports Illustrated swim suit addition.
