The Traveling Hunter

Greg Rodriguez

While he is known to Petersen’s Hunting readers for his hunting articles and his role on PTV, Greg is also the CEO of Global Adventure Outfitters. His company sends hundreds of hunters and fishermen around the world each year, and Greg hunts half the year himself. Follow along as he shares valuable travel tips, all-too-many of which were learned the hard way.

In addition to being a staff writer at Petersen’s Hunting and co-host of Petersen’s Hunting Adventures, Greg Rodriguez is the CEO of Global Adventure Outfitters, a full-service booking agency in Sugar Land, Texas. Greg has hunted an average of 180-200 days each year since starting his professional hunting career in 1996. He has hunted 27 countries on six continents and taken over 120 species of big game, including Africa’s Big 5.

Greg has had some excellent hunts along the way, but he has had more than his fair share of drunk, incompetent outfitters; near-death experiences; corrupt government officials; and a short stint in an African airport jail.

He is also tasked with minimizing damage in the wake of PTV’s senior camera operator, Hurricane Conrad Evarts, as he chops his way through global cultural sensibilities like a hot Ginsu knife through butter. If you see Greg on a plane, don’t ask him if he knows Craig Boddington.
