Guns & Ammo Magazine Leads Outdoor Sports Category in Readers per Copy

Los Angeles, CA – May 26, 2009

In data recently released by widely respected media research organization MRI, Guns & Ammo Magazine was shown to be one of the most shared publications among all measured magazines. With a calculated 16.85 readers per copy, Guns & Ammo ranked number five in this category, bested only by titles Brides, Bridal Guide, Soap Opera Weekly and PC Gamer.

Publisher Chris Agnes noted; “Over the years, our subscriber studies have supported the premise that Guns & Ammo had an audience well beyond our paying subscribers and newsstand buyers, and this new data from MRI confirms more substantially what we’ve already known.” Agnes also added that “other recent trends – particularly our robust online forums – have indicated that there is a very active social component to the enjoyment of shooting sports, and our strong magazine pass-along illustrates another dimension of this interaction among enthusiasts.”

Richard Venola, Editor of Guns & Ammo, attributes the strength of readers per copy to a number of factors, including “our authoritative position as the leading magazine in the category, the power of the Guns & Ammo brand across all media, and our 50-year history of informing and entertaining America’s most avid shooting sports enthusiasts.”
