First hunt, one shot buck

John McKay – Submitting on behalf of my daughter Kaitlyn.

While hunting near St. Marie’s, ID, a friend spotted a buck bedded down at 400+ yards, While he kept his eyes on it, we snuck as close as we could before running out of cover at 265 yds. More than an hour later, the buck finally stood and moved out of thick brush. A single perfectly placed Hornady SuperPerformance .243 95 grain SST, her buck was down and dad couldn’t have been prouder!
