For those of you shopping for convenience in the form of a rifle and riflescope package, you won't be seeing many new options for 2018. Don't hang your head. The top firearm manufacturers still have some great deals in their lineup that will keep you budgeted below $800 for the entire package.

SAVAGE 110 ENGAGE HUNTER XP

Savage saves the day with the 2018 launch of their 110 Engage Hunter XP. It's teamed with a boresighted Bushnell Engage riflescope in 3-9x40 and drop-compensated reticle. Weaver Grand Slam rings and bases secure the Bushnell optics. Fire a few rounds at the range and you're ready for your predator hunt. A bonus of the 110 Engage Hunter XP is the ability to customize the length of pull for perfect fit and comfort.

Dressed in a black synthetic stock and matte blued equals a rifle ready to tackle the elements. A detachable box magazine guarantees quick loading and unloading. For precision bullet launch the AccuTrigger allows easy adjustability. At 7.25 pounds the rifle is easy to tote on a long-haul hunt. Proven concepts from Winchester's famous Model 70 helped shape their new XPR and you can get that reliability combined with a quality Vortex Crossfire II riflescope. The Crossfire is a 3-9x40 with Dead-Hold BDC reticle and mounted with Weaver style rings and bases. The XPR is available in a dozen popular calibers and predator hunters will embrace favorites like the new addition of the 6.5 Creedmoor, plus others like the .243 Winchester, 7mm-08 Remington and the .308 Winchester.

The XPR is constructed around a rugged polymer stock and offers a finish to take on the elements without losing your grip. A matte blue finish wards off rust and is non-reflective. Nickel Teflon on the bolt improves speedy operation and added corrosion protection. The barrel is free floated and includes a target crown. Integrated into the platform is the M.O.A. Trigger System that Winchester touts as a zero-creep setup for improved precision. MOSSBERG PATRIOT VORTEX SCOPED COMBO

If you haven't looked at the Mossberg Patriot you haven't been paying attention to the rifle market. Take a closer look and you'll see Mossberg has paired this affordable rifle with a Vortex Crossfire II€ˆ3-9×40 riflescope with Dead-Hold BDC Reticle.

In addition to a tested action the model 783 is set in a matte black synthetic stock constructed of high nylon fiber content. Dual-pillar bedding free floats the button-rifled barrel. For clean shots, Remington incorporates the new Crossfire adjustable trigger system. For quick loading, Remington teams the 783 with a steel detachable magazine.
