8 Crazy Reasons We Will Always Love Ted Nugent

8 Crazy Reasons We Will Always Love Ted Nugent

Ted Nugent is crazy. We've all said it once or twice (or ten times) in our lives.

Whether you love him or hate him, the Nuge is often on the fringe. He's bold, he's powerful and he certainly hasn't changed. The Motor City Madman is proud of his gun-toting, liberal-hating core beliefs, and he's been pushing the boundaries of public outrage since Barack Obama was roaming the halls at Columbia University.

Were we surprised when Uncle Ted blasted Obama, the Supreme Court and any democrat within earshot at this year's NRA Annual Meetings in St. Louis? No.

"We need to ride onto that battlefield and chop their heads off in November," he said. "If Barack Obama becomes the president in November, again, I will be either be dead or in jail by this time next year."

Since his comments this past weekend, there's been a public outcry, a Secret Service investigation and a rash of public condemnation of the Nuge.

Again, how can we be surprised? What's great about Ted is likely the reason why he'll be a polarizing figure until the day he rides the great white buffalo into the sunset. He is a rocker, a redneck, a hunter, a shooter and a passionate advocate of all these things.

It's for that reason alone, we can't help but love a crazy, harmless uncle. Here's eight other reasons.

He Rides a Buffalo on Stage

This crazy SOB rides a buffalo on stage at his concerts. No, really, he rides a buffalo.

Wang Dang Sweet Poontang

What degree of awesomeness must you be boiling to produce a rock show like this one? If there's one word to describe this video (other than wang or dang or poontang) it would be primal. This man is just primal.

He's the Most Outspoken Hunter on the Face of the Earth

He may be outrageous and you might not always agree with every single thing he says, but there's no denying that Nugent has been and always will be the most ardent supporter of hunting and gun rights we've ever seen.

"The future of the shooting sports in this country is in the hands of tomorrow's Outdoorsmen and women. The youth of America must be educated to the Wholesome and valued world of hunting and conservation. Because rock 'n roll plays such a pivotal role in a young person's life, I will share my wonderful lifestyle and experiences with them." — Ted Nugent

Kill It and Grill It

Besides the fact that "Kill it and Grill it" makes one damn fine catch phrase, this book is the absolute guide to getting your "dinner-on-the-hoof and savoring the world's greatest pissed-off protein. ' It's an unapologetic meat eaters bible. We love it.

He's a Member of....

The National Rifle Association (NRA), Michigan Bow Hunters, Citizen's Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, Second Amendment Foundation, Gun Owners of America, Gun Owners of California, Director Law Enforcement Alliance of America, New York City Benevolent Policeman's Association, National Wildlife Federation, Ducks Unlimited, Michigan United Conservation Clubs, Michigan Big Game Hunters Association, Handgun Hunters International, Michigan Sheriff's Association, National Trappers Association, U.S. Sportsmen's Alliance, Wisconsin Bowhunters Association, Mississippi Bowhunters, Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) Spokesman, Outdoor Writers Association of America, Coalition of Michigan Hunters, National Field Archers Association (NFAA), Director Canadian Outdoor Heritage Alliance (COHA), Putting People First, South Dakota Archery Association, Maryland Bowhunters Society, Arizona Bowhunter Society, United Bowhunters of Connecticut, Massachusetts Bowhunting Association, United Bowhunters of Pennsylvania, Ohio Society of Traditional Archers (OSTA), South Carolina Bowhunters, Director: Michigan Bowhunting Conference and Vice President: American Shooting Sports Council

Ted Nugent's Kamp for Kids

In 1989, Nugent and his wife Shemane created the Ted Nugent Kamp for Kids to "attract American children into that higher level of awareness that is the discipline of the shooting sports and an outdoor lifestyle." There is no greater tribute to this man's true intent. Even though he may sometimes drive a hard political bargain with his rants, Uncle Ted's heart is undoubtedly in the right place. He loves hunting and moves everyday to see that the next generation does the same.

He Really Really REALLY Hates PETA

You all know that we hate PETA. So, it stands to reason that we would hold an undying admiration for a man who managed to hate the lettuce-munching Prius drivers more than our crew.

Nugent told Royal Flush magazine the following in 2010:

"My name is Ted Nugent and because of Pam Anderson and because of Bill Maher and because of Paul McCartney, all the members of PETA, whenever I hear the word 'Ëœanimal' or 'Ëœrights' in the same paragraph, I'm killing an extra hundred of something this year I have unlimited deer tags in Michigan and Texas, and I don't even need to kill them really, but I'm going to for Bill Maher."
