For more than a decade now, Kuiu has been synonymous with high-mountain technical gear. Kuiu Proximity Rather than resting on their laurels, the company has now developed a new whitetail line that is sure to turn heads and bring the same trusted quality to hunters that focus their efforts in the hills and hollers instead of the alpine. The Proximity series—releasing today—is built to help you stay virtually undetected during close encounters, as well as warm during those late-season cold-weather conditions.
Using Kuiu’s proprietary technology, the Proximity Series is ultraquiet due to the low-sheen fabric while being highly wind resistant with their SynthaCell foam membrane. This membrane helps to increase wind protection and, by default, warmth retention. Also, each piece is infused with Silvadur advanced microbial anti-odor treatment that helps to prevent any undesirable odors.
Kuiu Proximity Kuiu has developed this series of products with purpose-driven features that will perform for those stand hunters that want to maximize every second of hunting time during the season. Offering both a jacket and pants in their first iteration, the Proximity series was truly built from the ground-up to ensure comfort and stealth while in the woods.

Kuiu Proximity One look at the new jacket and it shows you just how much thought was put into this system. The Proximity Insulated Hooded Jacket is designed to fit as an outer layer to ensure unrestricted movement over base and midlayers and even over a safety harness. Weighing less than two pounds, the jacket stays true to Kuiu’s lightweight model, giving the user warmth without the bulk. Its features include a removable hood, pit zips, streamlined forearms, as well as the safety harness port. Additionally, two zippered chest pockets with interior accessory loops, two interior drop pockets and two zippered hand pockets allow you to have a grunt tube, your phone and a snack at your fingertips. The Proximity line has strategically positioned its heavier insulation in those more vulnerable areas of the body—the torso—while keeping lighter insulation in the sleeves where extra breathability and mobility are necessary.
Kuiu Proximity The Proximity Insulated Pants have 3DEFX+ insulation built-in to them and still weigh less than 2.5 pounds. These pants are built with full-length leg zippers for easy on and off and dual-entry cargo pockets on the sides for quick access to any accessories you’ll carry to the stand. They are designed to fit over or under knee-high rubber boots to ensure you have total scent control. The pants also feature a set of fully adjustable suspenders—that are removable—a structured, raised back, silent-snap closures and articulated knees. All features that will help entry and exit of a stand.

Wilkerson went on to explain that the Proximity series was engineered with features for a variety of conditions. These features lend themselves to the more stationary hunter, but still with the core customer in mind. The years of development that went into these products, the wear-testing feedback and how it has performed in a multitude of scenarios will prove to serve any hunter in the nation whose diehard pursuit is chasing big whitetails.
