ATA Show 2016: TenPoint Carbon Nitro RDX Crossbow

Kali Parmley, associate editor of Petersen's Hunting, highlights the features of the new TenPoint Carbon Nitro RDX Crossbow at the 2016 ATA Show.

The all-new TenPoint Carbon Nitro RDX crossbow is the company's response to the growing number of crossbow users making the switch to a more compact crossbow that features reverse-draw technology.

The TenPoint Carbon Nitro RDX was designed for the weight conscience crossbow hunter. By combined its 20-inch, wrapped carbon fiber barrel and new, PolyOne engineered, carbon-fiber-infused, OnForce polymer stock, TenPoint has created a combination that dramatically reduces weight, shot noise and vibration.

TenPoint then added an ultra-narrow, 15.5-inch axle-to-axle (10-inch at full draw), reverse-draw bow assembly. The Carbon Nitro RDX features 165-pound limbs, a 16.5-inch power stroke, custom RDX Cam System and DynaFLIGHT 97 string and cables. All these features combined allow the Carbon Nitro to boasts an impressive bolt speed of 385 fps.

The Carbon Nitro RDX also features a machined aluminum riser, nylon filament bolt-retention brush and Over-the-Top limb pocket and Zytel Limb Suspension System that isolates the limbs from direct contact with the riser for reduced noise and vibration.

Like all TenPoint models, the assembly of the 3 ½-pound, T3 auto-engaging safety trigger is equipped with a DFI (Dry-Fire-Inhibitor), and rubber safety wings prevent the shooter's fore-grip fingers and thumb from moving above the flight deck.
