Benelli fundamentally redefined the possibilities of the over/under shotgun category back in 2015 when they presented the all-new 828U to the upland and sporting clays world. The original 828U delivered several innovations to those who leaned toward the traditional style of a stacked-barrel shotgun. Reliable performance and forward-thinking technology launched the 828U line into a modern world of upland hunting and sporting clays.
The 828U series of over/under shotguns have stood out in the field for over six years for their exquisite blend of contemporary styling and innovative technology. But sometimes being great just isn’t enough. For Benelli, the release of the new limited edition 828U is but a further testimony to their position as leaders in the shotgun class.
This year, the 828U line is being expanded upon with a few new performance and styling enhancements via the 828U Limited Edition.
At a glance, the 828U Limited Edition stands apart with its nickel-plated steel frame and elegant game-scene engravings along the sides, top, and bottom of the receiver—a perfect complement to the shotgun’s luxurious, satin-finished AA-grade walnut furniture.

The BE.S.T. (Benelli Surface Treatment) gloss barrel finish ensures that a good day afield won’t ruin this heirloom shotgun. By utilizing a proprietary coating that calls on nanotechnology and diamond-like carbon particles, the BE.S.T coating provides an armor-tough covering to the steel that is so dependable Benelli includes a 25-year guarantee against rust and corrosion on all BE.S.T. coated parts.
A limited-edition model in the truest sense, Benelli will produce only 200 units of the 828U Limited Edition in 12-gauge with a 28-inch barrel.
As with the mainline 828U, the 828U Limited Edition includes all the performance features that have made this double-barrel a standout in the field, including impulse-activated ejectors, a top lever striker reset, and the Benelli Progressive Comfort System recoil mitigation in the stock. Beyond these innovative features, the 828U also sports a removable trigger group for easy cleaning, adjustable drop and cast for a custom fit, and Benelli’s patented steel locking system that prevents shotshell pressure transfer to the receiver and hinge pins.
