Kevin Steele, Tom Rice and Jason Morton of Petersen's Hunting are hunting New Zealand Tahr and the action is fast and furious.
Employing a helicopter to transport them into the New Zealand alps, they quickly locate a mature Tahr and work into position.
The use of the helicopter as a scouting and transport tool is a unique experience for the hunters and while it may seem like an unfair advantage, the terrain makes almost any other tactic virtually impossible. And simply spotting a good tahr from the air is anything but a guaranteed kill. Finding the tahr is simply the first step in the process.
Once a tahr is located, the hunters must act quickly and shoot accurately which is anything but easy when things happen this fast and the adrenaline is pumping.
