Mossberg has just released a new line of shotguns for upland and clay shooters alike. This new line of shotguns consists of five different double guns — two under the Silver Reserve Field Series and three under the Gold Reserve Sporting Series.
The field models are available with a black synthetic stock or a black walnut stock with a satin finish. Both have a matte blue barrel finish. The walnut model is available in 28, 20, 12 gauges and .410 bore, while the synthetic model is only available in 12 gauge. The 12-gauge models come with a 28-inch barrel length while the rest come in 26 inches and have a 14-inch length of pull. For those requiring a shorter length of pull, the walnut version also comes in a youth model offering a 13.25-inch length of pull. These rifles come with a set of five flush choke tubes so you can customize your shot for any day in the field.
The synthetic stock, 12-gauge model comes fitted with a fiberoptic front sight making the shotgun ideal for turkey hunting. The walnut models come with a classic bead front site and fit the bill perfect for a tradition upland hunting break-action shotgun. These are perfect option for someone who wants the classic reliability of an O/U shotgun without the cost that is usually incurred. The models MSRP for $692 for the black walnut and $636 for the synthetic.
As we move up to the gold series — as the name so aptly implies — the features and finishes of the gun improve. There are three shotguns in this series: The Gold Reserve Sporting, the Gold Reserve Black Label and the Gold Reserve Super Sport. These shotguns are fitted with hand-picked walnut stocks that have been cut-checkered and have a polished blue finish on the barrels.

These shotguns come with five extended choke tubes and are ready for competition right out of the box.
The Black Label is good option for those looking for a sleek finish designed to impress your companions in the field. Along with the walnut stock and polished blue barrel, it sports a polished blue receiver that has engraved scrolling and gold inlay. Both the Sporting and the Black Label MSRP for $983.
The Super Sport is the right choice for shooters who are looking for the ultimate customization in their gun. This gun has an adjustable stock to ensure the length of pull, cast and comb height fit you perfectly. The receiver is silver with gold inlay and engraved scrolling.
