This year Crimson Trace has released 50 new scopes in the Brushline and Hardline product categories. The Brushline series, specifically, is built for those of us who spend a lot of time in the wild chasing down game of all kinds.

I was lucky enough to use a Brushline Pro 4-16x50 with the BDC reticle on a whitetail hunt in Texas this past fall, and I was impressed. This scope performed flawlessly, we had tags in our pocket for pigs and deer alike. Before hitting the field, we headed to the range to ensure our scopes were zeroed. Shooting this scope on the range was impressive, it sighted in easily and the second-focal-plane BDC reticle was incredibly accurate. After some time on the range, I had the confidence necessary to head out hunting.

I was lucky enough to kill a big Texas nine-point buck, a doe, and two hogs. The hunting scenarios changed for each animal as well so I got to experience what the scope could do in different situations. Much of the hunting was from a box blind, and for those of you who know about sitting in blinds, finding a comfortable rest where you can get a good cheek weld on rifle is difficult. Luckily the generous eye relief on this scope made it easy to get on the gun and acquire my target.

Deer and hogs tend to move early in the morning or later in the evening and the sinking Texas sun offered little light through the thick brush. It wasn’t an issue though, the scope’s lenses are fully multicoated and have 90-percent light transmission, offering a great picture even in low-light hunting situations. The scopes are also durable, even bouncing through the Texas brush country and being thrown in and out of trucks, it seemed to hold up to the abuse just fine. Although, if you end up breaking your Crimson Trace scope it is backed by the company’s lifetime warranty.

The 4-16x50 with BDC isn't cheap but is well worth the money. Although, if you are looking for a scope that isn’t as hard on the wallet, Crimson Trace offers other 4-16 models with different objective sizes and tube sizes that are considerably less but still flaunt the same great features and outstanding performance.

Crimson Trace Brushline Scopes

If you are looking for a quality scope at a good price, the Crimson Trace Brushline series of scopes is a great place to look. You can find a scope that will fit your budget and hunting style that is built to perform in the toughest of environments and will last a lifetime.
