2019 Holiday Gift Guide

The rut is on and we’d rather be hunting, but hunters also have to make time for some holiday shopping. I mean, you could wait until the last minute, but wouldn’t you rather be hunting ducks in December instead? To make the most of your time, and keep you in the field longer, we’ve narrowed down all the great gear we’ve seen this year and made a short list of what we’d love to see under the tree this holiday season.

onX Hunt App

By now, there aren't many outdoorsman that are unfamiliar with the benefits relating to onX Maps. This year, the updates have gotten even stronger via their onX Hunt app. Users can now share Waypoints, Lines, Shapes and Tracks with their friends and relatives, as well as the accompanying Markup content — names, notes, colors and more. These new features are available in addition to the GPS, property-boundary and other mapping tools that help make onX Hunt invaluable. MSRP: $29.99 per year (Premium Membership); $99.99 per year (Elite Membership) |

Genesis Original

If you'd like to get your children involved with the great sport of archery, look no further than Genesis Archery for help in doing just that. With its Original bows designed to fit virtually any child, you couldn't ask for better equipment for beginners. With only one cam on the bottom of the each rig, tuning is breeze, recoil is limited, and accuracy is increased. Bows are available in bow right- and left-handed options with plenty of different color schemes to choose from. You also have an opportunity to add a kit to your purchase, which includes a quiver, armguard and five arrows. A hunting bow that packs a bigger punch — the Gen-X — is also offered when the right times comes! MSRP: $170-249 |

SIG Ammunition

In recent years, SIG has made a big splash by jumping into the ammo world with gun blazing. Their newest offering is designed to keep sportsmen on target at extended ranges. Elite Hunter Tipped ammo features corrosion-resistant, nickel-plated cases topped with premium lead-alloy bullets for reliable performance. Polymer tipped design adds to a high ballistic coefficient for maximum accuracy downrange and initiates expansion for devastating terminal performance. Available in .243, 6mm, 6.5 Creedmoor, .260, .270, .308, .30-06 and .300 Win. Mag. MSRP: $21-$56 |

Danner Pronghorns

The worst part about getting a new pair of Danner Pronghorns is retiring the old pair. But, we’d be happy to trade them out on post-Christmas hunts for this new fifth-generation of the proven design. A blend of old and new, these are built on the original last with a new Terra Force platform that offers better stability on the tough terrain. Uppers are nubuck with nylon panels that shed extra weight, backed by the newest Gore-Tex technology for waterproof protection. MSRP: $230 |

Pnuma IconX Core Vest

Plug into the future of hunting gear with the latest, and possibly greatest, iteration of heated clothing. Instead of bulky layers weakly powered by last-gen battery tech leading from a tangle of wires, the Pnuma IconX Core Vest is woven with slim, discrete carbon fire in key areas – namely around the chest, neck and kidneys, that emit three levels of body-warming heat. Powered by a thin, long-lasting Li-ion battery that provides more than 6.5 hours of heat at the low setting, which is a toasty 100°. The vest itself is slim and form-fitting, crafted from hollow fibers that wick warmth-stealing moisture from the body. MSRP: $150 |

NexGen Outfitters Whitetail Caddy

With more pockets than a pool hall, 18 in total, NexGen Outfitters Whitetail Caddy can carry everything a deer addict needs for a season in the stand. It’s designed to keep calls, scents, gloves and field gear organized and close at hand. Can stand upright in a pop-up blind, or be hung from a limb. Quiet tricot fabric is backed with a water-resistant lining to keep the interior dry. Cmo: Realtree Edge or Realtree Timber. MSRP: $100 |

Adventure Medical Kits Sportsman 300

Among the list of camp necessities, a first-aid kit is among the most essential, but often overlooked item. Keep the Adventure Medical Kits Sportsman 300 close at hand to cover most minor, and a few major, mishaps. Well organized and clearly label, it also for fast response without digging through unnecessary stuff. Detachable trauma pack is great for carrying on day-long hunts. MSRP: $75 |

Rite In The Rain Targets

Don’t wait for sunny and 70° for a day at the range. Storm Sight are the best targets going, with an all-weather material and durable printing process that won’t disintegrate when wet or flap in the wind. Two-sided design allows for close-up, sight-in work, or long-range accuracy with military and competition inspired grids for both rifle and handgun shooting. High-contrast colors allow for greater visibility in low-light conditions. MSRP: $12-$20 |

KUIU Dry Bags

The quickest cure for OCPD (obsessive-compulsive packing disorder). From little ditty bags to large gear bags fitted with handles, KUIU Dry Bags keep everything exactly in its place. Ripstop nylon construction is extremely durable, resisting wear and tear in your pack, yet incredibly lightweight, reducing weight when every ounce matters. Water-resistant zippers and roll tops seal out the elements. MSRP: $18-49 |

Work Sharp Pivot Plus Sharpener

A lightweight hone is an essential part of your field-dressing kit, and Worksharp continues to make some of the best. Their new Pivot Plus sharpener weighs next to nothing and takes up little space, but delivers three different surfacest to put an edge on any blade. Both the carbide sharpener and ceramic rods pivot as you pull the blade through for continues coverage. A diamond rat tail hone swivels into place to sharpen serrated blades. MSRP: $8 |
