A year stricken by a pandemic, civil unrest, calls to defund the police, food shortages and struggling government drove people to become self-sufficient. Since the pandemic started in March of 2020 there have been well over eight million new gun owners and people have turned to the outdoors and hunting to supply their family with food and find an escape from the worries of the world.
Nosler is a leading company in the firearms industry creating premium ammunition and high-end rifles. To help accommodate the increase in gun ownership and to hopefully educate everyone on the best firearm practices, Nosler created Project 48 . This project targets new gun owners, hunters and shooters to welcome them to the community, engage with them and educate them on their new-found responsibilities. If you’re new to the community, this project was created just for you.
Nosler is incredibly busy trying to keep up with the ammunition demands of the market while still creating some of the best rifles a hunter can buy. So, how can they possibly have the time to accommodate such an important project? The simple answer: Partners.
Nosler just announced the first two partners that will be figureheads for the project, and I am sure they are not going to disappoint. First on the docket is Tim Kennedy . Kennedy is an active, Ranger qualified, Green Beret, Special Forces Sniper with tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as others around the globe. Although you may know him better from the time he spent as a UFC fighter where he was inducted into the Black Belt Hall of Fame in 2011 as MMA Fighter of the Year. Kennedy has a huge following on social media, 986,000 as it stands now on Instagram, and his ability to communicate with his audience with a pragmatic and educational voice will greatly benefit Project 48.

The next face for the project is Colion Noir . He is a lawyer by trade but his passions for firearms, the second amendment and needless to say, America, have driven him to become one of the most influential voices when it comes to gun rights and firearm safety. He is dedicated to defending the Second Amendment and takes the time to study, train and become as efficient as possible with firearms of any kind. Noir is nipping at the heels of Kennedy with a social media following of 886,000 on Instagram. By following his social media channels, you can easily see Noir is well educated, passionate and he delivers content that is easily receptable, especially from a younger audience.
Both of these men are leading figures in the gun world and their influence will help the 8 million new gun owners immensely. I think Nosler made an excellent decision having both Noir and Kennedy at the forefront of Project 48. We at Petersen’s Hunting look forward to seeing the success of the project.
