SHOT Show 2018: Best New Hunting and Camping Gear

As per usual, the 2018 SHOT Show was packed with new gear  including these must-have hunting and camping products.

Primos Double Bull SurroundView Blind

This blind is making waves and being dubbed the "first blind without a blind spot." Covered in a new material called SurroundView, the technology allows it to function like a two-way mirror: You can see through it, but nothing can see in it. A tiny pin-hole pattern tricks human and animal eyes into focusing on the camo, making the holes invisible from the outside. Primos has also created the SurroundView App, an augmented reality app that allows users to "set up" their blind with their phone to determine optimal shooting angles and concealment.

Camp Chef SmokePro SG Pellet Grill

Tired of your grill and smoker taking up double the room on your back porch? Camp Chef has solved that problem by combining the two. The new SmokePro SG Pellet Grill features slide and grill technology, allowing users to smoke low and slow while a simple lever opens the fire box for direct flame grilling. Dual meat probes are built into the LED digital control panel while Smart Smoke Technology helps users maintain a consistent temperature range from 160F to 500F.

Benchmade Altitude

Made for backcountry hunters who count every ounce, the new Altitude fixed blade knife from Benchmade weighs 1.67 ounces and is 2.2 millimeters thick. The drop-point blade measures three inches and features carbon fiber scales to help maintain control of the skeleton knife. Available in either blaze orange or black. The blaze orange version comes with Kydex sheath outfitted in First Lite Fusion camo. Best part: Benchmade has teamed up with Backcountry Hunters & Anglers and with every purchase of the orange Altitude, they will donate a portion of the sales to help the fight in protecting public land access.

Mystery Ranch Pack

Building on their line of women's specific hiking packs, Mystery Ranch has created women's specific harnessing to pair with two of their most popular hunting packs, the Metcalf and Pintler. Custom designed to feature narrower shoulder pads to form to the female body, the straps are curved to alleviate friction points. Through the use of chest straps found on the Metcalf and Pintler, women are able to adjust accordingly for a perfect fit. Mystery Ranch has also teamed with Sitka to offer both packs in GORE OPTIFADE Subalpine camo. Between Sitka's women's specific line of hunting gear, and Mystery Ranches women's harnessing, female hunters are perfectly set for backcountry hunting.

Browning Hell's Canyon Speed Backcountry FM Gore-Windstopper Jacket

For the first time in 10 years, Browning and Gore-Tex are teaming to add to Browning's Hell's Canyon line of performance hunt wear. Building on their A-TACS AU (Arid/Urban) camo from last year, Browning has developed the A-TACS TD-X (Tree/Dirt Extreme) camouflage to conceal big game hunters in densely wooded terrain. The Speed jacket is made of a 3-layer Gore Windstopper fabric that is water resistant, windproof, and breathable. The jacket has handwarmer pockets, two chest pockets, and a harness port. To cut down on bulk, the Hell's Caynon Speed jacket is made with Browning's HeroFit Trim.

Sitka Waders

Adding to their waterfowl line of clothing, Sitka has developed a line of waders for wingshooters. The Delta Wader is made to last from warm early season to cold late-season weather. The wader has Lacrosse Aeroform insulated boots with reinforced foam pads on the shins and knees to withstand abuse breaking through ice and brush. The Delta Wader features adjustable, no-buckle shoulder straps, water resistant zippered storage pockets, and high handwarmer pockets.
